About Us

Tip Tray Theatre is an arts organisation based in Liverpool. It is headed by Artistic Director, Evan Byrne and Executive Producer, Maisy Gordon. The pair pride themselves on being a disability led company that aids in the development of young and early career artists. The company aim to support artists by removing barriers that they may face when attempting to enter into the arts, offering as many unique opportunities for development to a plethora of artists.

A great source of pride for the company is their What Happens Next? and Tip For The Future events, that are able to remove many financial barriers that working class artists may encounter. Allowing writers and theatre makers to develop and stage work without having to worry about theatre hire costs or paying for rehearsal venues.

Tip Tray Theatre strive to produce exemplary work with young people and developing artists at the heart of it. With a huge focus on collaboration and creativity the company hopes to support emerging artists in becoming well rounded professionals.

Meet the Team

  • Evan Byrne (He/Him)

    Artistic Director

    Evan is a Neurodivergent Director, Theatre Maker and Facilitator from Liverpool. His work focuses on exploring ideas with the help of heavy beats, choreographed movement and direct address. Evan has worked with companies such as Frantic Assembly, Complicité and National Youth Theatre. He is currently working on a multiple projects that explore disability and Neurodiversity with RAWD Project as well as working on solo projects.

  • Maisy Gordon (She/Her)

    Executive Producer

    Maisy is a disabled performer, writer and producer from Liverpool. Maisy's Experience includes playing Katy in High Times and Dirty Monsters (20 Stories High & Graeae) and being the Writer of Space Invaders X LIAR (Unity Theatre, 2024). Maisy also works with companies such as 20 Stories High and RAWD Project leading on communications and Marketing.

  • Joe Cowin (He/Him)

    Associate Artist

    Joe is an actor and Facilitator from Liverpool. He has been with Tip Tray Theatre in Multiple roles since April 2022. Joe recently played Shane in Sean McLoughlin's critically acclaimed I Am Steven Gerrard (Tip Tray Theatre). Joe is currently working on a large amount of short films and pieces of theatre throughout the city.
